In a few more hours it will be Valentine’s Day. I had hoped to have an eBook ready on Amazon.com to start selling on that day.
The eBook, “The Ghost in the Mini Skirt” is a murder mystery and love story but it is more than just another offering of contemporary literature. A friend of mine, Helen H, has been fighting breast cancer since 2006. She and I decided to use the book in an effort to raise money for breast cancer research.
The story starts on Valentine’s Day, so we thought it would be fitting to start the donation drive also on Valentine’s Day. The pressure was on to turn a manuscript into an eBook in time.
The donation drive is simple. Approximately 200,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer over this year. We are going to donate $1.00 from every download to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Our goal is to sell 200,000 downloads; one for each victim over this year. We were going to run the donation drive from Valentine’s Day 2014 to Valentine’s Day 2015, if the book got done.
If you go to “Helen’s Fight” Face Book page, you’ll be able to track the number of downloads and the total amount raised as the year progresses. I hope you’ll join us and I hope you’ll support our efforts.
